Chalo Sansad March Turns Violent at Jantar Mantar .Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk led a massive protest in Delhi today. Hundreds of Ladakhi students joined the Core Committee for Sixth Schedule Implementation (CJP) march.
Subsequently, the peaceful rally turned violent near Jantar Mantar. The protesters tried to break police barricades to reach the Parliament building.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took emergency actions. They immediately closed entry and exit gates at several central stations.

Why Are Sonam Wangchuk and Ladakhis Protesting?
For months, Ladakhi groups have been demanding constitutional safeguards. They want the inclusion of Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule.
Additionally, they are demanding statehood for the union territory. They also want exclusive land and job protections for local citizens.
Therefore, this march was organized to grab the government’s attention. Sonam Wangchuk stated that their peaceful democratic voice is being suppressed.
